Eclectic Eye II

On show will be Modern British paintings and prints by some of the great artists of the 20th century, many represented in the Tate collection, alongside works by some much-loved Dorset favourites, including Brian Graham,
Peter Joyce, Padraig MacMiadhachain and Alastair Michie.

Alongside the paintings and prints, we’ve carefully selected a collection of studio ceramics. Contemporary makers sit alongside earlier works from the renowned Leach Pottery, including pieces by influential potters whose work helped shape the British studio pottery movement. We’re also delighted to feature the distinctive ceramic jewellery of Katy Mai. Completing the collection is a selection of vintage and antique French ceramics, offering a fascinating contrast in style, form and tradition.

Our hope is to introduce you to some of our favourite artists and makers, and in doing so, share a little of the passion that lies behind what we do. We know that art galleries can sometimes feel intimidating or formal. Peter and Jo offer something a little different — a more relaxed, homely experience, direct from Peter's studio. We look forward to welcoming you and sharing the exhibition with you.
