Born in USA with a degree in English Literature he taught, wrote and travelled before coming to ceramics later in life in 1983.
Bound’s bold and assertive work, David Whiting wrote, is imbued ‘with something of post-war American energy and his own stridency. These are awkward objects, making no concession to conventional taste’
I was introduced to his work, many years ago at the Gnarly Dudes exhibitions at Powdermills Pottery on Dartmoor. Mixed exhibitions with Svend Bayer, Charles Bound, Nic Collins, Jon Fellows and Chuck Schwartz. We have collected his pots since this time and regularly visited the Booth House Gallery in Holmfirth with Jim Robison at the helm. Charles Bound has exhibited all over the world and was represented in London by The Hart Gallery.
